2019 was the most active political and social year that Venezuela has had in its entire democratic history. Venezuelan society suffered defeats and victories throughout the year. Protests for basic needs and a change in government further reflected the crisis facing the country.
On April 30, Juan Guaido, leader of the Venezuelan opposition, announced in the early hours of the morning a military uprising and the start of the so-called freedom operation, which generated protests in support of the fall of the government throughout the city of Caracas.
